Summers of our lives (Chapter-9)
Dear wonderful person,
How have you been? How is this new phase of your life treating you; convey my salutation to your parents.
I know it's been months I wrote to you. Well, new things are a little difficult to adjust to. I hope you may agree 😊 😊. A few days back it was one of those few Sundays where I didn't have anything to do. I woke up late, my plants had dried so I filled one bucket and went into my balcony to water the pots. Summer is very hot this year, people are melting down then these are a few tiny green plants. After watering my six plants, I stood taking the support of the cement grills of the balcony to look around it's been a while where I just stand and absorb nature, people, and their behavior. A small kid of about 11 holding a wrench and tightening the bolt of his bicycle. It immediately took me to my school days, when all of us cousins and friends would ride our bicycles with our NY caps and a water bottle along. We would roam around the playground and would visit a new playground every day.
And remember even we met in one of the summers of our lives. The first time when I saw you, You had worn a white and pink long openwork (jali) dress. I'd always made fun of yours when you wore it, that dress appeared like a cloth we use to cover our landlines. One day when we sat by our dining table to play Name, place, thing, and when it was "A" alphabet you wrote "arm" in the things section but everyone asked "How can you write a fruit name in the things section"? then you explained "it's not 'aam' the fruit it's the 'arm' the body part. The moment you said everyone burst out laughing and the sweet smile you had when you corrected others. I knew one day you will become a Teacher.
And remember your drawing, I still have them preserved.
Remember?.
I hope you don't read this because you may revisit those memories and waste your time.
Bye for now and have a marvelous life ahead. And if we meet ever, while passing on the Grace Bay Beach. Pass a smile and continue walking.
