Cyclist (Chapter-8)

How have you been? How is this new phase of your life treating you; convey my salutation to your parents.

All the team members sat in the conference room where our product manager asked all of us to be available for an emergency meeting regarding the loss of footfalls on our new product in the digital market. An app that is used by entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas and get sleeted for earning funds directly from the funding companies and the reason for fewer footfalls is 1. Poor marketing and 2. The unpleasant user interface of the application. He entered the hall and started yelling at each department, when he was back in his normal tone, the manager stands and asks "does anyone have any idea to save this sinking ship?” I got surprised, till now where we talking about the ship or the application, I didn’t realize I said it a little loud, the guy next to me hit my elbow, “Sorry dude” I shouted. “Is everything alright?” the manager asked in his “I am going to be angry again” tone. Sorry sir, I said and lowered my sight. I was sitting near a window, it was raining heavily, I saw a cyclist sitting by his cycle and fixing the chain of the cycle, everyone around him was running, covering their heads with books, bags and some great brains with their laptop bags. I was taken aback seeing the guy is focused on the job he needs to complete without getting distracted, I am not sure that he knows how to fix it but he is trying his best to fix it with his concerning inabilities. That time I realized if we do our work with whatever is felt or whatever we have with uttermost sincerity, nevertheless of the result we may find some or other way to put the work on the finish line. Though I was not selected for designing or sort of anything, I raised my hand, “Yes, please do you have any idea” the manager asked. “No, sir” I replied. “Then why did you raise your hand,” the manager asked. “Sir, if you may allow, could I ask a question,” I said. “Sure” he replied. “Sir, what is that thing our company promises to deliver?” I asked. “You, tell me," the Manager said. “Sir, the sole purpose of our application is to help the up-coming entrepreneurs, when a group of individuals decides to be entrepreneurs, their ability is questioned, the whole story of "your family has done so many things for you", why do you want to waste all of our efforts, after fighting with half of the world the group launches their product and there usability, then comes our application which believes that we can help them, but instead we make them question their ability by using crazy lines like “do you want to submit” at the end of the application process, the user interface is not unpleasant sir, its difficult to digest, its touting it makes a person lethargic. Young ones need an app that is easy to understand the process of entrepreneurship, the pros and cons of entrepreneurship. With respect to an idea which is good, that needs just a push. And sir the best marketing is “word-of-mouth” anyone can make hundreds of fake accounts and make their app the highest rated app in application stores. It’s the empathy which attracts the users” I said. “That was a fantastic pep talk, do you have any idea to sell,” he asked. “Yes, sir” I stood and walked to the laptop stand and logged in to my email, and opened a presentation, I made in the last semester of myy degree. It was a basic face-recognition mode, build using OpenCV and NumPy. I started explaining the design, how HTML needs to be perfect but should be basic, how CSS could be a game-changer. I concluded the presentation, there was pin-drop silence, the manager stood in his place and started clapping “fantastic presentation” he said and continued “From now on you are our creative head which will help in designing as well as coding” he said and asked me to send a copy of the presentation to his mail.
